Anda&Fala is seeking a
Production and Workshop Technician who will collaborate in the implementation of the association's Activity Plan, as well as in the production of the vaga space and the Walk&Talk 2027 Biennial.
Focusing on the p
roduction, assembly, and technical support of exhibitions, installations, and artistic projects at the vaga space and at the Walk&Talk 2027 Biennial, as well as the
organization and maintenance of the vaga workshop, we are looking for someone with
solid experience in handling hand and power tools and an
interest/practice in exhibition assembly contexts, combined with
knowledge and experience in production methodologies.
We value someone capable of coordinating, managing, and mediating different stages — planning, technical monitoring, and contingency management — of production processes, with technical knowledge and the ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently, sensitivity to collaborative work and autonomy, ensuring the execution of projects with rigor and in line with the values of care, shared responsibility, and autonomy that guide the association's actions.
MAIN DUTIES— Setting up and dismantling exhibitions and installations;— Safe operation of workshop machinery and tools;— Maintenance and organization of the vaga workshop;— Technical support for artists during production and installation periods;— Technical execution and supervision in real contexts (exhibitions, public spaces, or other formats);— Management of schedules, budgets, production maps, and reporting;— Management of suppliers, specialized services, and material resources;— Coordination with internal teams (curatorship, communication, administration) and external partners;— Planning, execution, and monitoring of activities for various projects (vaga space, Walk&Talk Biennial, residencies, Open Studios, and other association projects);— Technical support in the execution of the Walk&Talk Biennial 2027.PROFILE AND SKILLS— Proven experience and/or interest in visual arts, exhibition assembly, and technical production in an artistic context;— Proficiency in the safe handling of cutting, drilling, fastening, and assembly tools (wood, metal, and other materials);— Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and riders;— Autonomy in resolving technical issues during assembly;— Organization, rigor, and attention to detail;— Ability to work in a team during periods of intensive production;— Sensitivity to collaborative work with artists and curatorial teams.— Driver's license (mandatory).CONDITIONS— Fixed-term employment contract (2 years), starting on May 1, 2026, with the possibility of renewal— Average gross salary of €1,400/month (includes salary, allowances, and meal allowance)— Vacation and Christmas allowances— 35 hours per week (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)— On-site work / workspace: vaga (Laranjeiras, Ponta Delgada)— Based in São Miguel, Azores (mandatory residence or willingness to relocate)APPLICATION— Email your resume and letter of recommendation, if you have one, to: info@andafala.org— Email subject line: Application — Production and Workshop Technician— Deadline: March 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.— Interviews with pre-selected candidates: between March 16 and 25, 2026 (online)
