Alex Farrar (born 1986, Yeadon, Leeds, UK) lives and works in Amsterdam and London. He studied at Leeds College of Art, UK (2006), Leeds Metropolitan University, UK (2009), Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam (2010), and completed a two year research fellowship at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam in 2016. Recent solo presentation have been held at A Park is a Place for Strolling in Winter, Eindhoven (2019); SE8 Gallery, London, UK (2019); Bloc Projects, Sheffield, UK (2019); Dürst Britt & Mayhew, the Hague, NL (2019); and Arco Madrid, w/Dürst Britt & Mayhew, Madrid, ES (2018). Recent and forthcoming group exhibitions are at Rembrandt House Museum, Amsterdam, NL (2021–2022), Valkhof Museum, Nijmegen, NL; ‘Musée Légitime at The Small Museum, Paradiso, Amsterdam, NL; and ChaShaMa, New York, USA (2019). He publishes artists’ books under the imprint 7.45 Books and has been awarded the Best Dutch Book Design prize in 2014, 2015, 2019*, and 2020*.
