Nichole Shinn is a multi-disciplinary artist
living and working in Brooklyn, New York.
She was born and raised in Austin, Texas
and earned her BFA in Painting/Ceramics
from Pratt Institute in 2014. After graduation
she worked for 2 1/2 years as a studio
assistant for Takashi Murakami aiding
in production of large-scale silkscreen and
painted works in his New York and Tokyo
studios. Since leaving his studio, Nichole
pursues her art full-time and freelances
as an illustrator. In addition, she is a
co-founder of and director with TXTbooks,
an artist book publishing studio focused on
affordable Risograph editions. She has her
artist books held at the Whitney Museum
Library, The RISD Library, the New York
Public Library, and on sale at Printed Matter
NYC (among others.)
