Soraia Gomes Teixeira, was born in 1990 in Oporto, Portugal.
She studied Visual Arts in high education and in 2009 she joined the Industrial Design course at the Polytechnic of Oporto. In 2012, she entered the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha (Esad.cr) and did a master degree of Product Design as a design theme “how the body shapes the object and the how the object shapes the body”, guided by the designer Miguel Vieira Baptista.
Along with her academic studies, she attended the music conservatory for several years.
In 2014, she was selected for a POP demonstration (projects of Portuguese origin), a show organized by the Serralves Foundation store. In the same year, she is selected for the exhibition of Young Portuguese Creators competition organized by the Portuguese Club of Arts and Ideas (CPAI), in 2015 she represents Portugal in the category of Equipment Design, at the VII Biennial of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLMP) in Maputo, Mozambique. Still in 2015, she was part of the workshop at Domaine Boisbuchet, as an assistant of Miguel Vieira Baptista.
In 2017, Soraia Collaborated with Ciszak Dalmas studio in Madrid, Spain.
Currently she’s working with Portuguese industry, she’s a teacher at the Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design of the Polytechnic of Porto and attends the PhD program in Design at the University of Aveiro.
