Isabel Medeiros, Joana Albuquerque, and Sofia Rocha were the three people selected from the 1st edition of the New Wave Prize, who will receive creative grants of €4,000 each and, as of January, begin artistic residencies to develop new projects to be presented in a group exhibition between September and December 2024 at the wave. Two honorable mentions were also awarded to Júlia Furtado and Pedro Evangelho, translating into invitations to join the wave's programming in the last quarter of next year.

VOTING
> The judging committee for the 2024 New Wave Prize is made up of Jesse James (Artistic Director of Anda&Fala), Marta Espiridião (guest curator), Filipa da Rocha Nunes (writer and curator), and Fátima Mota (gallery owner);
> Each member of the Evaluation Committee previously scored the applications, and these votes and final deliberations resulted in the decisions on the people to be selected;
> Each application was evaluated considering the points indicated in point 8 of the regulations: letter of motivation and portfolio.

RESULTS
> From 20 applications received between November 10 and December 8, three people were nominated for a grant: Isabel Medeiros, Joana Albuquerque, and Sofia Rocha, and two honorable mentions were awarded: Júlia Furtado and Pedro Evangelho.
