Beatriz Machado Brum was born on February 14, 1993, in Ponta Delgada on the island of São Miguel - Azores. In 2015, she concluded her degree in Plastic Arts at Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Caldas da Rainha. In 2017, she completed her Master's Degree in Cultural Management and in 2019 she completed her Master's Degree in Plastic Arts at ESAD.CR. In 2015, she won the Walk&Talk’s Young Creators Award, participated in the group exhibition "(5)" I'kletick, London, and had a solo exhibition at Hotel Madrid in Caldas da Rainha, "Bruma". In 2018, she participated in some exhibitions at Galeria Oitavo, in Oporto, such as "Não é em Paris, é na Oitavo" and "Ciclo Semanal". Also in October 2018, she was part of the exhibition "Código Postal 9500 - Três Residentes Artistas: Beatriz Brum, João Miguel Ramos e Sara Rocha Silva" at Centro Municipal de Ponta Delgada. In 2019, she participated in the group exhibition "Cosmographies, history and other colors" at Galeria Fonseca Macedo. Later that year, she joined "10 / 40", at KUBIKGALLERY, Porto and "No Feminino", at Galeria Fonseca Macedo, Ponta Delgada.
Brum is particularly interested in the use of light as matter and. She aims to understand how it manifests itself in her work as an assumed creative motto. In the course of her career, several works have been born with the purpose of responding to this problem.
