João Amado
Portugal
João Amado (1992), born in São Miguel (Azores), is a self-taught visual artist who works with the collection, reinterpretation, and recontextualization of images and objects from the popular-traditional and natural world. His work is marked by a neo-surrealist aesthetic and language, inviting a sense of journey into fantasy, the dreamlike, and the transcendent. He has been exhibiting since 2019, with his first institutional solo exhibition in 2021, Se podes olhar, vê. Se podes ver, repara at Arquipélago – Centro de Artes Contemporâneas.
