Paula Mota was born in Porto and lives in São Miguel, Azores. She graduated in 1993 in Fine Arts - Painting from the School of Fine Arts of Porto. She is currently a teacher with a definitive appointment at Escola Secundária Antero de Quental.
Between 2017 and 2019, she collaborated with illustrations in the magazines Falta, Grotta, and Cadernos de Poesia; with the Regional Conservatory in the creation of props for the final concert of the Choir's internship; and collaborated as a guest artist in the project Interstelar, from Instituto 61, included in the 2019 Tremor festival.
She has her work represented in several museums and institutions, as well as in private collections. Since 1992, she has regularly exhibited her work in group or individual exhibitions in several spaces such as Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Center, Ponta Delgada Municipal Culture Center, Galeria Fonseca Macedo, Arco 8 gallery, Francisco de Lacerda Museum, or Angra do Heroísmo Museum.
