Sofia Carolina Botelho (1986) was born in São Miguel, Azores, where she currently works as a programmer and cultural mediator. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Mediation Service team at Arquipélago - Centro de Artes Contemporâneas. She is vice-president of Anda&Fala - Associação Cultural and is a member of its Advisory Board. She was co-artistic director of Walk&Talk - Festival of the Arts and co-founder of the Fabric Arts Festival in Fall River, Massachusetts. She has a degree in Fine Arts - Sculpture, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, and a master's degree in Museology and Museography from the same faculty. She has worked as a programmer and mediator since 2012 in various cultural institutions in São Miguel, such as the Tomaz Borba Vieira Library, the Living Museum of Franciscanism, the Micaelense Theatre and the Carlos Machado Museum, where she coordinated the Educational Service between 2019 and 2020. She has been participating as a speaker at conferences and seminars in the areas of programming and mediation, cultural and artistic participation and museology.
