Susana Aleixo Lopes (1987, São Miguel - Azores) graduated in Fine Arts - Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, completing her degree during an Erasmus exchange at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland, in 2012.
She has participated in national and international group exhibitions since 2010. Some of her solo exhibitions include Whether There Be Shine and Gloom at Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Center, 2023; Nos Queda El Horizonte at Centro de Arte La Regenta, 2020; and O Vazio Preenche-se at FCTNova, 2018.
Wood and fire have been significant elements in her work. Her creations emerge from a personal, free, and poetic interpretation, exploring the intrinsic will of the materials and the process itself.
