Moving Assembly - Transmalhar for Democracy+info
25 apr 〰 13h30-15h30
Moving Assembly - Transmalhar for Democracy proposes an artistic occupation of the streets and squares of Ponta Delgada on April 25 as an invitation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Democracy in Portugal. This act will be a revolutionary body on the move, comprised of intergenerational communities engaged in different causes, who have collectively been reflecting and proposing on the 1974-2074 timeframe. Experimenting in the streets with colors and songs, this multiplicity of bodies will honor the past, remind us that we can "live without pretending to live", and "sow in the passing wind" other possible futures for our Democracy.
This performative march is the result of close collaboration over several months between Anda&Fala - Associação Cultural, hundreds of people living and not living in São Miguel, Escola Secundária Antero de Quental, ACAPO Açores, Associação de Imigrantes dos Açores, Associação de Surdos da Ilha de São Miguel, Associação de Séniores de São Miguel, UMAR Açores and Associação Cultural 432Hz, with artistic direction by Lívia Diniz.
