Caminhos entre a Luz e a Sombra brings together painting and photography in a single space, fostering a dialogue around the landscape observed along São Miguel’s hiking trails. The routes presented are not merely physical places, but also experiences of movement, contemplation, and discovery. Photography emerges as a trace of the encounter with the territory, capturing fragments of the paths, details of the vegetation, shifts in light, and signs of human presence in the landscape. Painting, in turn, moves away from direct reproduction to reconstruct these same experiences through memory, color, and gesture.
