The Michaelense expression dêtxate — a variation of deita-te [lay down] — has been a source of reflection for the vaga team. It means rest and pause, whether due to mental or physical exhaustion, laziness, the need for idleness or regeneration. We propose an exhibition-experience to extend our relationship with time, space, the senses, and dreams. Dêtxate is the result of a collective composition that invites us to explore with our whole bodies the cultural, social, and political implications of rest, arguing that it is today an act of resistance against extractive systems that can lead to a lack of self-care and the exhaustion of the ecosystems of which we are part.
