With a background in design and illustration,
Pedro Lino works a director and producer in both animation and live action cinema. He started directing films right after college with his first short “The Fat Girl” winning the “Best Young Filmmaker” award at Cinanima 2005. Several other films followed, many funded by the Portuguese Film Council, both in animation and documentary, being screened and awarded at several festivals worldwide. His first feature doc, “Lupo” was released in 2018.
From 2009 to 2019 he lived and worked in London, UK.
His work spans across many themes, with the common thread of the relation of the self with the surrounding world and the power of Nature over the individual. Deeply rooted in a painterly approach to the filmed image, his films often depict the poetic nature of the tiny details that make up daily life.
