Created in the summer of 2007 in Braga, Peixe:Avião have quickly captured the attention of the national press by a promising EP "Finjo a Fazer de Conta Feito peixe:avião". Since then, their career has been marked by a steady growth supported by albums “40.02” (rastilho records, 2008), “Madrugada” (PAD, 2010) e “peixe : avião” (PAD, 2013). With the homonymous album, they were nominated for the Impala Awards, which give notion to the best European independent records of the year, along with Boards of Canada, Nick Cave and Sigur Rós. The Blitz gave them the 2nd place in the list of best national albums of 2013 and there have been numerous publications that gave them 1st place in the list of the best albums of 2013, including Vodafone FM and the Expresso newspaper. In 2014, commissioned by Curtas Vila do Conde - Festival Internacional de Cinema, they composed original music for the classic 1929 Dimitri Kirsanoff film, "Ménilmontant".
In 2016, they return with "Peso Morto" (PAD), in which they deepen the path opened by the 2013 self-titled/ homonymous album.
