SoundPreta is a project that had its debut in July 2019, on the eve of the International Day of Afro-Latin American and Caribbean Women and of the Diaspora and of Tereza de Benguela - dates that recall and address similar issues, of visibility and resistance of black women, but in "different" places and in different times.
SoundPreta exists because of the perception of the absence or little presence of black women performing and producing cultural events (in music) in the Portuguese scene. Given the importance of occupying also these spaces, the purpose of the project is to blacken and bring intersectionality.
The main elements of SoundPreta are party, music, dance and fun, but the project is also about resistance and visibility.
