Vânia Rovisco
Portugal
Vânia Rovisco, defines herself since 2008 as a performative visual artist, bridging the body within the art gallery, where she expands her work to other mediums - live installations, light, video. Between 2001 and 2007 she was an performer for Meg Stuart / Damaged Goods. Teaches workshops, directs movement and continues to work as an interpreter. Between 2012 and 2015 she attained experience curating events and collaborating with Arpad Szenes Vieira da Silva Museum. In 2013 she premiered her solo The Archaic solo, Looking Out, The Night Knight and in 2014 staged Silos de carros e estradas giratórias for 10 men. She is co-founder of Aktuelle Arquitektur der Kultur –AADK and her latest project Reacting to Time - Portuguese in performance deals with the archive and transmission of works from the late 60's.

Art Residency Program - Dance and Performance

Creation of an new dance piece, co-produced with Teatro Micaelense and the Arquipélago – Contemporay Arts Center, with premiere scheduled for July 28. The show brings together azorean creators and a special collaboration from Jochen Arbeit, a german musician and composer, founder of Automat, and member of bands like Die Haut and The Jever Mountain Boys.
