5.a.m. (working title)+info

The work Maria Ana has been developing since 2014 seeks to find and establish connections between the fragment and the ceramic material as an image resulting from a collection of memories of her personal perception of nature.
In sculptures executed in glazed ceramics that resemble geological formations, rock fragments or pieces of ice, the artist works on aspects related to color, depth, temperature, variation and sound.
In 5.a.m. (working title), Maria Ana questions the materials she uses in her sculpture, materials that constitute the world around us. This is what her sculpture is about, forming or conforming the world, and in doing so, the work automatically brings new questions and comments to the macrocosm that surrounds us and the way we relate to it.
The idea of still life that appears in the title pushes us to make a parallel between the "frozen" moment that the sculpture represents and the current moment in which we live.
