CABRAQIMERA is a choreographic score for a skating quartet, a dance piece about states of detonation.
The choreographic composition, based on rhythm, voice, and devices of illusion, proposes the articulation of a quartet of dancers in a monstrous, hybrid unit, in a being of apparent impossibility, equipped with moods, desires and plural libido, in a collective entity formed by means of fusion, negotiation, and synthesis - a "chimera goat". The archetypal dimension of the gesture is inspired in the image of a scientific aberration, combined with the use of prostheses (skates), in order to access genres of physicality that allow levels of risk and speed on stage, projecting the body to extreme alterity and opening the terrain of fiction.
CABRAQIMERA is part of BURNING ECLIPSE, a project by the artist Catarina Miranda that reflects on the constant and porous movement between imagetic vision and artistic creation. The proposal intends to put into dialogue two parallel and interdependent vectors of discourse: the first, POROMECHANIC a series of video portraits of choreographers, which are filmed moments after they have been submitted to a state of immersion; opposed by the dance piece CABRAQIMERA.
