Nadia Belerique works at the intersection of space and matter, photography and sculpture. The installation, in relation to the architecture, allows you to think about the three-dimensionality of the projects, and the experience that the spectator has in these scenarios and environments.

Holdings is a moving place, in transit between times. The barrel, used to transport industrial goods, is reappropriated by the artist, similarly to immigrant communities who used it to transport and send personal goods throughout the 20th century. Nádia - daughter of Azorean immigrants to Canada in the 70s - , remembers this gesture through a structure of individual cells, which contain, project and store elements and translations of things that follow us, that we desire or question. The barrels add volume to the weight and effort of transience (physical and emotional). They are portals to these places that exist between proximity (familiar) and distance (curiosity), and that remind us of the desire to possess and preserve.
