30 June / 19h00
Live show of Luís da Riviera, the musical project of the artist Luís Lázaro Matos, during the opening of the exhibition Untitled (How does it feel), curated by João Mourão and luís Silva.
Luís Da Riviera is the musical alter-ego of the artist Luís Lázaro Matos (Évora 1987). Luís lives and works in Lisbon. Graduated in Art Practice by the Goldsmiths College, University of London, Luís took part in several collective exhibitions like the EDP New Artists Award (2013) and 10000 Depois Entre Vénus e Marte (2017), curated by João Laia. He also presented his projects in Supergibraltar at Kunsthalle Lissabon, Smile You Are In Spain Studio, and Tomber Dans Le Lac at Galeria Madragoa. Tomber Dans Le Lac is a show about the post-death of the king Luís II of Baviera, emblematic figure that also inspires the name of his music project. Luís is influenced by the post-pop aesthetics and garage rock of sharp distortions. The lyrics of his songs, like "Santini", "Colónia Balnear" or "Menino da Linha" talk about homossexuality, privilege, and growing up in the Estoril line.
