PORTAL, 2015-2016 / acrylic mirror, expanded polyurethane, polyester strip and wooden criptoméria / diameter 3 m
The Portal has emerged as an art installation composed of a set of mirrored pieces hexagon-shaped, hinged together, to be installed in the bay of Port of Ponta Delgada city, in the context of the Walk & Talk festival, 2015 edition. Jogging like a wave the piece floats to the surface of the water and intensifies the reflections of light creating a strange element that blends with the surrounding environment and whose perception is given by its brightness, almost as if it were an intense ray light emanating from the bottom of the sea - like a portal that allows us access to other realities.
A set of bureaucracies unrelated to the Walk&Talk festival organization led to the withdrawal and the seizure of the piece by the Maritime Police, a few hours after their installation in the sea near the Cais da Sardinha, on the waterfront of Ponta Delgada.
