"I find in her granular and colorful images of nature a true inspiration for making my own musical landscape."
Paul Régimbeau, aka Mondkopf, is a household name among edgiest international festivals such as ATP, LUFF, Bozar or CTM, post-industrial warehouses of northern Europe, industrial parties (Berghain in Berlin, Kaos in London) as well as more solemn atmospheres of churches, museums (BAL, Pompidou Center in Paris) or auditoriums (Philharmonie de Paris, Lyon’s Auditorium). Mondkopf has put forward his talents as a live artist, giving his melodic ambient music power and a rager inspired by extreme metal. After a long period of solitary evolution, he has developed in this last year's multiple collaborative projects.
Paul and the filmmaker Diana Vidrascu (Artist in residency W&T) have been collaborating for the last two years. He composed the soundtrack for “Silence of the Sirens”, her previous short film and she made the visuals for his new live show. Just recently he finished working on the score of her new video installation "Vulcão”.
In this performance at Walk&Talk, Mondkopf will present a musical interpretation of this installation, improvising live on 16mm images, also using the field recordings she captured on site, in the Azores, while shooting for this documentary.
