Peressini’s proposal is a construction of a sculptural/architectural installation made of wood and coloured transparent methacrylate. The basic concept that shapes her recent proposals, as here in the Azores, is the design of site-specific installations that, always through a trans-disciplinary practice, questions the role of the common space as well as its potential in the built environment at various scales. Placed in a natural environment, the installation per se aims to be a walkable space that generates the experiential effect of human entity passing through a given, allocated space.
Furnished through her ongoing research of the confluence between art and architecture, Peressini’s work is a structural work that expresses the metaphysical dialogue naturally embedded between what pertains as functional and what can be read as a work of art. Ayelen researches about the existent relationship between sculpture and architecture, research that arose from deep concern about those proposals that being found “in between” belong both to the artistic and architecture fields.
