Rubén Monfort Meseguer was born on January 4, 1988, in the small town of Benicarló, Spain. He holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Jaume I in Castelló, Spain. Before moving to the Azores, his professional career took him to Brasília, São Paulo, and Porto. He has lived in the Azores since 2014, where he has worked at Açoriano Oriental, Yuzin Azores, and the Tremor Festival. Since 2020, he has served as Program Coordinator at Anda&Fala — Cultural Association.

His passion for photography began at a young age, but in 2009 it took on a more professional dimension. Through this artistic medium, he explores cultural traditions and the local landscape. In recent years, he has carried out several photography research projects: “Despensas — The Tradition of Rabo de Peixe,” “The Lagoas Archive,” “The Archive of Chance,” and “Laudalino da Ponte Pacheco, the Photographer Who Is Still There.”
