Anda&Fala invites applications for the design and creation of an artistic mural (approx. 64 m²) at EBI Canto da Maia in Ponta Delgada, celebrating the nine islands of the Azores as a diverse and interdependent territory.

The contest is based on a proposal selected by the Azores Participatory Budget: Project 21/OP22. It will be carried out through an Open Call, from which five Azorean or resident artists will be selected and invited to submit original visual proposals for the mural, under the theme “Archipelago of Abundance.” The final proposals will be evaluated by a specialized jury and through online public voting, ensuring a balance between technical criteria and active community participation. The winning proposal will subsequently be realized with the support of a specialized technical team, ensuring artistic quality, suitability for the urban space, and the durability of the artwork.


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
— Individuals or groups
— Aged 16 to 35
— Born in the Azores or residents for at least three years

TECNIQUES

— Spray paint
— Ceramic coatings
— Other techniques suitable for outdoor use

STAGES OF THE CONTEST
The contest will take place in two selection phases, followed by the execution phase.

— Applications (due by April 5, 2026)
Artistic portfolio + statement of intent + biographical note
— Selection (results announced on April 24, 2026)
5 (five) artists/collectives will receive €750 to develop a visual proposal
— Jury and public voting (results on June 25, 2026)
The selected proposal will receive €5,000 for the execution of the mural, along with a production budget of up to €12,000
