Over the course of the Festival, Lisbon-based architecture studio, Camposaz hosted a community workshop that saw a group of people come together to develop and build a temporary seating and viewing platform, where people are encouraged to share local stories and memories. Beginning with the brief to build an island in an island, they will use locally sourced wood and found materials to create a temporary meeting place to recount local memories. Inspired by the endless flows and ripples of tides and of water, this architectural mise en abyme represents the sea’s connectivity and movement and becomes a signature of poetic travel between space and people.
The 2018 Public Art Circuit, curated by Dani Admiss, introduced new works by Camposaz, Daniel Rourke & Luiza Prado, Navine G. Khan Dossos, Nora Al-Badri + Nikolai Nelles, Sascha Pohflepp & Chris Woebken, Shift Register - Jamie Allen & Martin Howse.
