Linda Lamignan will perform with music, words, and movement. Collaborating with the Ananas (pineapple) and its properties. Channeling the ancient and present knowledge of ananas to imagine alternative futures. Some of the content for the performance will develop side by side with the research process before arriving at Azores and some will be created in exchange with the ananas plantations, sea landscapes, and local elements of the Azores in the days leading up to the festival. The costumes will be designed and created by Serena Coelho. Deconstructing shapes, forms, and textures found in the aesthetic of ananas. Fabric and materials that follow the waves and circular currents of the Atlantic Ocean. Working with elements that reflect traditions and cultural representation of Ananas in Brazil, Azores, and Nigeria. Videos created by Itohan Emonvomwan fill the performance space with fragments of memory, emotion, and imagination. Altering surfaces with colored light and perceived depth. A way to transform the space and in turn transform ourselves.
