Ana Monteiro (Flores, 1979) has a degree in Radiology from Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa (2002) and in European Studies and International Politics from Universidade dos Açores (2012). She obtained a Master's degree in Socio-Organizational Intervention in Health from the University of Évora (2006).
She was a member of the board of Quercus - Núcleo de São Miguel between 2008 and 2015 and collaborated in various advisory processes in the environmental field, both with the Government of the Azores (e.g. member of the advisory committee for the process of amending the Coastal Management Plans (POOC) for the South Coast and North Coast of São Miguel) and with citizens' initiatives related to environmental conservation.
She worked between 2005 and 2021 at the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo.
Since September 2021, she has been working on the Blue Azores program, focused on the conservation and sustainable use of the Azorean sea. This program's mission is to contribute to the protection, promotion and enhancement of the archipelago's marine resources.
She is the author of some texts in regional magazines: Atlantis Cup Magazine, #grotta2 Magazine, #grotta4, Avenida Marginal Magazine n°2.
