Francis Nuno Rodrigues (b. 2001, Madeira Island) is an artist who works with video, performance and installation.
At the heart of his practice is an attraction to the experimental possibilities of refusal - an abrasive but generative desire to agitate, subvert and reject the now in order to forge deviant tangents - unorthodox paths to other spheres outside the boundaries of truth. Rodrigues provokes moments of friction, provoking volatile spaces where identity, documentation and narrative fall apart, multiply and mutate. Inspired by confession, his work often arises from diaristic experiences that feed a process of personal undoing - a cycle of transformation and contradiction.
