Piny believes in free artistic creation and in cross-research between academia and informality. She is a dancer, performer, choreographer, researcher and teacher. Born in Lisbon, of Portuguese and Angolan descent, she graduated in Architecture and completed a degree in Contemporary Dance in Lisbon.
In 1999, she began studying Middle Eastern and North African dances and their contemporary fusions, and since 2006 she has also dedicated herself to Hip Hop, Clubbing and Ballroom culture. In 2012 she founded the Orchidaceae collective and in 2019 the Vogue PT Chapter project. She develops her path between interpretation and her own work, highlighting “HIP. a pussy point of view”, “.G RITO” and ONYX. In 2023 she brought the OU.kupa festival to Teatro do Bairro Alto.
