Maria Raquel de Sousa Lima Jorge was born on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, and fell in love with yoga in 2001. She obtained her 3-year Yoga teacher's certificate from Associação de Estudos de Yoga do Porto (AEY), of which she was vice-president. She lived in India where she studied Hatha Yoga Iyengar at the Yoga Study Center in Rishikesh, with Professor Rudra Godwa, and took the Ayurvedic therapist course at the Arsha Yoga Vidya Peetam Trust in Coimbatore. She has done several trainings and retreats in Tantra Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Krya Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yoga for seniors, Yoga for pregnant women, Yoga for children, Ayurveda, Reflexology, Mindfulness and Self-compassion, Gurdjiejj Sacred Dances and personal development trainings. These trainings and retreats were given by different internationally known teachers, such as Luís Lima, Billy Konrad, Rudra Godwa, Har Govinde, Shibendu Lahiri, Vicente Simón, Fernando Bornaetxea, Lama Gyurme, Punja Kinzer, among others. She is currently finishing his degree in Biology in the field of Human Health at the University of the Azores, with a specialization thesis on the benefits of Yoga in Health.
