Bumerangue is a performance about time, the body and the island.
I started my art on the streets of the green island.
Migrated in September 2012, after the first Pride.
At the time, I was experimenting with my own different way of loving and Portugal was going through a historic economic crisis.
Time passed.
I changed.
So has the island.
I want to explore the island-body, this body that has permeable borders that are constantly changing - the skin, the sea, the air and mapping time.
A contour in permanent definition. Periphery within the periphery. I've learned to be fragmented.
Using personal and collective memories, photography, writing and dance, I intend to map the metamorphoses that my time as an emigrant has caused in my body and in this corner of which I am a native.
