Vaiapraia e as Rainhas do Baile are a punk trio committed to creating poetic images through sincere and immediate pop songs. The debut album 1755 (Spring Toast Records, 2016) is the result of a symbiosis work in band, which deserved an exhausted release party at Zé dos Bois Gallery and featured in publications such as Público, Time Out or Blitz.
This is a song that sometimes animates us and appeals to action, and by others leads us on the errant path of desire. In addition to the explicit and honest lyric that some align with the musical tendency named queercore, the work of the trio goes beyond this category adopting, for example, both the energy of garage rock and the pop of bubble gum.
The live appearances of the band are special occasions in which these themes (and the stories they bring) gain a new life, having already shared the stage with bands like Trash Kit, Peach Kelli Pop or Feels and played in festivals like Barreiro Rocks Or the Serralves in Festa.
