MARATHON RESULTS HERE

This manifest project by Ilhas Stúdio* aims to create a marathon, on the 24th of July, during Walk&Talk, which crosses the island of São Miguel over 42Km and in which everyone can participate. An urgent Marathon that unites the race to the demands, struggles, and causes of all those who are part of it. We are running out of time is a project that defends intersectionality as a way of looking at the world, where art, sport and citizenship dialogue to generate spaces for meeting and conversation.

By accepting that each individual cannot voice all causes, the Marathon creates a space where everyone can voice at least one. The greater the diversity of participants in this project-marathon-visual-manifestation, the more causes, needs and desires will gain visibility and a field of debate. This project is a race against time to fight for gender equality, against homophobia, against transphobia, against racism. It is a collective journey for a more sustainable world without war, hunger, and domestic violence.

The 42km route runs along four entry points (42,4 km, 22,4 km, 7 km e 3 km) to allow for different levels of intensity and participation in the Marathon so that all people, associations, collectivities, or informal groups can join get together. At these points, in honor of the Marathon spirit, there will be a symbolic passage of a testimony. Each participant's body will become a visual support, which carries a graphic piece designed by the studio islands, through the phrases and causes submitted in the act of registering for the Marathon.
