Walk&Talk 11 program presentation
Anda&Fala - Cultural Association presents the program of the 11th edition of Walk&Talk - Arts Festival, this Tuesday, June 21, at 11am, at vaga, Travessa das Laranjeiras 51, in Ponta Delgada.
The 11th edition of Walk&Talk - Festival de Artes dos Açores will take place on the island of São Miguel between July 14 and 23, under the theme In the first place. Several new projects crossing visual arts, performance, music, architecture and design will be presented, and the festival will once again have a "home" in Largo de São João (Ponta Delgada), where a temporary pavilion signed by Ilhéu Atelier will be built to welcome the public and open to the city as a main stage and meeting point. European project Centriphery also comes to a conclusion with the presentation of a Walk on the Edge.
In the first place proposes a reflection on what arises and exists in the first place, rethinking current narratives and positionality as a key aspect in defining systems of power, knowledge and identity. Questioning divergent temporal and spatial constructions and recognizing multiple voices, presences and positions, the program intends to think about word, speech, sound and music as ways to travel in time, proposing new perspectives and readings about the spaces we inhabit - whether physical or metaphorical, and the relationships we establish between geographies, resources, different species and ideas.
On June 21, we will share the final list of artists and participants in the festival, and the unpublished projects they present, the result of artistic residencies developed in the Azores between 2021/2022 in the scope of the open calls for residencies and W&T Young Creators, but also invitations and commissions.
