New in the 11th edition of the festival: W&T SOUNDSYSTEM
W&T Soundsystem is a project designed and created for Walk&Talk 11 in the context of 'Future Narratives' , a program from the European project Centriphery. It will take the form of a mobile sound system that presents itself as a programming device and an artistic and engineering object.
Built using different sound components, these modular speakers create a mobile device that will circulate the island, claiming its place in the public sphere as a context for listening, vibration and discursivity. It will adapt to the diversity of situations and, through its architectural presence, challenges a particular relationship with the context in which it is installed. W&T Soundsystem is activated through concerts, DJ sets, and listening sessions with sound pieces commissioned by artists.
Sérgio Coutinho and Francisco Antão are the artists and engineers invited to develop the sonic skeleton of this Soundsystem. Architects, designers and carpenters join the project to think about the structural and conceptual dimensions of the object and the configurations it can assume.
