Walk&Talk is part of the 'Todos os tempos se cruzarão’ exhibition in Coimbra
Walk&Talk is participating in the exhibition Todos os tempos se cruzarão at Sala da Cidade, Coimbra. The exhibition is part of the exhibition cycle Cuidar de um país, dedicated to territory, architecture, and art, and co-organized by the Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra, the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra, the Centre for Social Studies and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra. The exhibition opened at the end of 2023 and can still be visited until March 2, 2024.
Todos os tempos se cruzarão proposes to demonstrate, through eight heterogeneous proposals, how, in this adverse context, architecture and art have been able to find strategies that structure the territory, recreate it, and revive its deepest fabric, recovering its forgotten possibilities, consolidating it. These proposals intervene against the current and on a scale of proximity, reinforcing the identity of places and their ability to structure our time.
Walk&Talk is part of the exhibition with House for Ferraria, a project by Portuguese visual artist Teresa Braula Reis, commissioned for the 2017 edition of the festival.
House for Ferraria, situated in Ponta da Ferraria (São Miguel), placed within an area classified as a Regional Natural Monument for its natural geology, consists of an abstract plan for a house, delimited by a low wall of concrete that resembles the common foundations of a building. In the center of this house, one of the rooms is filled with water. The work resembles that of an unfinished construction, a voluntary ruin that exists only through a drawing of what it could become, where the temporal and literal character of the concrete contrasts with the reflective and poetic qualities of the water.
In Todos os tempos se cruzarão, the installation is reproduced on a scale model and is part of a video installation with images of the piece, accompanied by a testimonial from the artistic director of Anda&Fala - Cultural Association, Jesse James.
Along with Walk&Talk, the exhibition also features proposals by António Belém Lima, Bartolomeu Costa Cabral, Colectivo Zás, Maria Manuel Oliveira, Nuno Valentim, Pedro Maurício Borges and Pedro Matos Gameiro and Pedro Domingos.
