Jorge Kol de Carvalho was born on April 26, 1948 in Terra-Chã, Terceira island.
He attended high school between 1958 and 1965 at Colégio Militar. In 1971 he completes the Architecture course at Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa (ESBAL). From 1971 to 1994, he worked in different architectural firms. In 1994, as part of Consulmar, he became responsible for the Azores Delegation and lived in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel island. From 2005 to 2013, as Guest Assistant, he taught Architecture at the University of the Azores.
Retirement in 2013 frees up his movements and fills him with time to embrace different challenges, including twice running for mayor of Ponta Delgada, as an independent for the Left Bloc, and so on, without ceasing to write or "architect".
