Walla Capelobo were the artists selected for the Open Call for Artists, who will receive creative grants of €2,500 each and carry out artistic residencies to develop new projects to be presented at the 1st edition of the Walk&Talk Biennial, between September and November 2025. The
CARA LAVADA Collective was selected in the Open Call for Programming, aimed at agents or associations based in the Azores, with a grant of up to €5,000 for the presentation of activities in the Biennal's official program.
VOTING— The jury for the Walk&Talk Biennale 2025 Open Calls was made up of Claire Shea (Guest Curator), Fatima Bintou Rassoul Sy (Guest Curator), Liliana Coutinho (Guest Curator), Jesse James (Artistic Director, Walk&Talk), Rubén Monfort (Program Coordinator, Walk&Talk).— The jury previously scored the eligible applications from both Calls, and from these votes and final deliberations (majority votes) came the decisions on the people to be selected;— Each application was evaluated considering the points indicated in the respective regulations.RESULTSBetween December 19, 2024, and January 31, 2025, 395 applications were received for the Open Call for Artists and 7 for Programming.
